So we crashed out of the FIFA Beach World Cup in Rio! So what?! We were there, weren’t we?

So we lost to Portugal; so what?! It was in penalties, wasn’t it?!

So we lost to USA! So what?! We made them work very hard for it. Didn’t we?

So we get to leave Rio with empty hands; so what?! We are leaving with a consolation victory over Spain, aren’t we?

So they (Spain) had already won the group and probably were not playing as hard as they could have; so what?! A win is a win, isn’t it?

So we had one of the most porous defenses in the tournament; so what? We had one of the most potent offenses, didn’t we?

So we are leaving Rio; so what?! It was fun while we were there, wasn’t it?

Thank you Brazil, thank you Rio, and thank you football fans. We had fun, we loved it and we hope to make it back again soon.

Oh! And girls, you looked great on the sidelines!

Folks, I know this is Iran blog, but a true football fan would never ignore football excellence in any other part of the world. After all we are talking about the only true world sport here. The one that we have grown to love ourselves, and we know that as we read these lines are legions of new fans who are growing up to follow our footsteps. So lets salute the ones who came before us and teach the ones that will come after us to love and appreciate the game as we all do.

Iran won third place on the beach by defeating the Chinese, and …. listen to this ….. because of that qualified for the 2006 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup to be held in Rio de Janeiro.

Yesssssss! … We are going to Rio where there are beautiful beaches, potent drinks, delicious food, and ……… ahm! …. Women wear the proper attire (You are never sure who might be reading this!)! :p
