How to Say "World Cup" in 36 Languages
The World Cup is a global event. Every nation on earth watches, and talks about. Even if your nation isn't one of the lucky 32 that gets to compete, you're still oddly involved (speaking from personal experience there, unfortunately). Even non-football fans watch. Which is insane when you think about it.
But not everyone speaks English, so not everyone calls this tournament the World Cup. In French it's the Coupe du Monde. In German the Weltmeisterschaft. In Spanish the Copa do Mundo La Copa Mundial and in Italian the Coppa del Mondo Il Mondiale. And in Hindi it's विश्व कप, which I have no idea how to pronounce.
Below is a list of every translation I could find, from Afrikaans to Hebrew to Welsh... [read more]
Classic World Cup Commercials: Nike's The Wall.
It's very rare that I remember things from the...err...single digits. They were heady, heady times, and quite frankly I did a lot of things I'm not proud of. Guus Hiddink: Football's Town Bicycle.
Forget John Terry, Vanessa Perroncel and Ashley Cole's little - or big - black book, Guus Hiddink is blowing their whoring ways out of the European water. I mean country. [read more]

VIDEO: "Ditewig's Blunder" and the 10 Second Goal
How is this for a laugher? The video is simply called "Blunder Ditewig." A better title would simply be unimaginable. Check out Ditewig's blunder, and keep this in mind; this same game opened up in the first ten seconds with a goal. Don't believe me? I have video evidence ...
