Asian pioneers in Europe
I love watching Asian players play in European leagues. Not just Iranian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and now Australians! Yes, Australians! Aussies are a member of AFC now, remember?
Okay, Aussies maybe new, and I have to get used to the idea. But besides watching my Iranian football heroes like Rezaei, Mahdavikia, Zandi, Hashemian, and Karimi, I also get a great kick out of watching the likes of Park, Takahara, Nakamura, Sun, and others.
These players are pioneers. They bring credibility to Asian football and raise the profile of the old continent’s game. Because of them football fans from around the world learn about the game as it is played far, far away.
