Foolad and Saba Battery have a bad day in Asia
April 12th, 2006 | By: Afshin Afshar | 1 Comment »
This was a bad day for the Iranian clubs in AFC Champions League.
First, Foolad FC, who won the Iranian Pro League title last year, crashed and burned in Tashkent 2:0. The Ahvaz club missed a number of starters due to disciplinary issues and injuries and it showed as they failed to impress at any point during the game.
Saba Battery on the other hand started brilliantly. They took a 2 goal lead in the first half and all looked fine. However, for a second time in a row they blew the lead and had to settle for a 2:2 draw.
Foolad are now second in Group A while Saba are third in Group C.
