I saw this game live.. Iran was down 2-0 first half and came back to score 5 goals. Very unimpressive performance by iran. Even thought this was iran’s “sub” team, they could have performed better. All in all , the question is Is Iran ready for the World Cup? I think so. ZENDEH BAD Team melli!

Agreed, about Iran being ready. I think they’re going to be one of the real stories of this tournament. I have them winning their group and going to the quarters.

Iran didn’t have it’s key players like Karimi, Mahdavikia and Zandi. Nekunam is not in his ideal form yet. I think Iran will become ready before the first match against Mexico. Iran has a very powerful offence but I’m really scared about the defence. All of the defence players make bad mistakes and I’m sure that Mexico, Portugal and even Angola will use these mistakes…

does anyone have a link for highlights of the game, i cant get the iranian games in england….

the defence has always been shaky but thats fine, if our attack can score 5 goals without 3 of our best players and most creative players its encouraging

Hi Kyan,

I f anyone sends me a link I will post it here right away.

I think the defense is hurting even more for two reasons:

1) Mahdavikia’s absence is leaving Kaebi too exposed.

2) Madanchi (Great player, and a fantastic attacker) does not support Nosrati as much as someone like Nikbakht did.

I am confident about Rezaei, but GOlmohammadi has been shaky as of late.

great performance this evening- have to say at 15 mins I was thinking of crying into my chai…but thank God for that amazing comeback- what a lift, I think the supporters also had a role to play in that one—wonderful teamwork and lets not forget that ali daei’s consistency and experience really made a difference when we needed it. Last 2 goals were beautiful- i know Im a girl and football isnt usually our thing but as a Newcastle Utd supporter I know a thing or 2!Its a great sign that even without 3 of our key players we had such a great result against what initially looked like a very organised and strong team (although Karimi looked very moody every time they showed him!) Keep up the good work Team Melli!!

[...] Iran 5 Bosnia-Herzegovina 2 Iran spotted Bosnia-Herzegovina two first half goals but turned things around quickly by scoring five unanswered goals. Iran fielded a largely its reserve team, but that didn’t stop Team Melli from putting an arse whipping on B-H. Bob’s been on the Iran bandwagon since he predicted that they would edge out Mexico in Group D, and I would join him if it weren’t for the fact that Bob is usually wrong. [...]

Iran’s defense was a mess. We have great offense and showed that we can do the job even without the star players. However, I think this is not enough and we need to hugly improve over defense or we could run into problems when playing strong sides.

It was very nice to see Ali Daii performe again!

And you beat me to the links because i just had a new baby and spent the last couple days in the hospital. I managed to catch the first half of the game before the labor started though!!! :) (The hospital was very close!)

Thanks for the links. Now I can watch the rest of the game! (hopefully!)
