Good Analysis! One thing he said that I like was the fact that you got to play on your strengths. We have good strikers, and fast moving forward and very weak defence. Why the hell then we should decide to play defence. You play defence when you have a strong defence. In our case we have a strong offense so we should have capitalized on that! Same goes for future, the only way to succseed or even have a good showing is to play on our strengths!

I think there is a chance if we change some of our players tony, don’t loose hope.

We all know that our defense is weak and the goalkeeper is not confident. In the same time we are enjoying a great mid. field and offense line. In second half of Mexico game we left our strength and relied on our weakness to save the result. This is called strategic mistake and it’s from the coach!
Mexico was our chance and we lost it I don’t see any hope for Iran in Portugal game!

As long we have a Coach who is so scare of changes we are not going to get past angole either. Changing Ali Daei and bringing some fresh legs like madanchi, shojai, kazemian and khatibi would make our team more attacking than just kicking the ball by ali daei

Hey guys! You can call me paranoid or whatever … but I think they had been ordered to loose! Just how in the hell can a team change like that in 15 minutes half time? If you ask me it is all politics playing even in our soccer match… Iranian government couldn’t just afford an uncontrollable huge crowd roaring in every city and town that might make some noises which government doesn’t like to be heard out of Iran right now. They have just tried so hard to show the whole world that every single Iranian is supporting their suicidal decisions and acts. They don’t want this image to be ruined suddenly with a stupid soccer match. Remember they are just having so much trouble controlling Azaris, Kurds, Sistanis and some more angry students. You ask me they didn’t risk their fragile situation to a win or draw in the world cup!
Remember such things have happened a lot in our country, “National Pride” and … is just a crap for them and is only good as long as it is giving them what they want.
Sorry I didn’t want to talk about politics in a soccer blog but it is how it is in our country.

Iran had a chance on 1 half totally loose it when it was the second half, it is normal to loose to superior and better teams, we can see iran cross the 1 part of world cup on 20 years from now because now it is really bad and almost no team has lost a game that bad with an exception of the United States..

Ricardo,
Even though Mexico is a great team, yesterday it was not the highly superior team over Iran. They got lucky in the 1st half not to get behind and then they won the game in 2nd half with Iran’s wrong plays (defensive strategy and defence mistakes). I believe would Iran have not changed its strategy for 2nd half they could have easily won yesterday. So don’t give yourself too mcuh credit! Mexico has to improve itself or they’ll have no chance against Portugal.

Hi Kia jan
I really didn’t get your point when you said “You play defence when you have a strong defence”,I think it’s the other way around,But i absolutely agree with you that we should play on our strenghts…

I agree with Bati. It is all politics and Iran is doomed to lose so long as it is controled by Mullahs,Sad but True

bati and carrie its all true!the gorvement need it for themselves and their goals!but a good football players of a country will show that this country is not stupid!!!crazyy!!! with a wild people(what others like to say or others(people of the world)think about us!! that true but at last loos the game will bother all iranian in every case and if they win they can say to all: YES IM FROM IRAN!!!
we iranian are the only nation that every where we go will to say : we have problem in this we have problem in that!!! yes maby thats true but you can see sme situation in many countries but the people of that countries when they will talk about their country they just will say + points! cuse its so important what poeple of the world think about you ! if you are saying dictators are our gorvement ok ! but dont forget that saying such as this things just will hurt our people!thats not true just to say yes yes will will loos cuase our gorvements…. what the fuck are gorvements???? what was and is happening to us is just beacuse of our stupid job!and this 1 is one of that! we must go with conditions and we must be out of dreams!!!! this is the reality of our country~! so walk in a way to not fuck ourselfs by our hands!!!

Iran lost because they were ordered to by their government?
Like one of your co-nationals said, “keep it simple”. You were outplayed, outsmarted, outlasted.

I really enjoy the fact that so many people from Iran contribute here. And they all are adequately familiar with English. But I don’t know why you guys swear so mcuh. You guys use the “F” word in every sentence. It is as if you do not fully understand the acceptation of it. Or is it common place in Iran to use the word in everyday conversation (translated in Persian). Perhaps I shoudl read some of Persian weblogs to find out!!!

Thanks Payam jan your comments got through just fine! as to the “f” word,Kia..It’s gotta be the movies.I heard they are so popular there…And many like to learn english that way.But as Kia said It’s not used(or if at all)this frequently in written english.
Khoda hame shoma farzandane Irano hefz kone..

They were told to lose? Come on, that is just silly. Were they told to lose by two goals? Or were they told to lose by one goal, and just messed up the third one? You guys are crazy. Our boys just ran out of steam at the end and messed up.
