Oh Branko, Branko, Branko!
Team Melli coach Branko Ivankovic was interviewed on Wednesday during which he addressed my favorite topic (NOT!) the lack of proper preparation.
Branko told reporters that politics had nothing to do with the football federation’s inability to schedule friendly games, it rather had everything to do with main players being abroad!
WHAT?!! Are you for real? We have four players playing in Bundesliga, two of whom (Karimi and Hashemian) are injured, and have been for weeks. A third one, Zandi, who incidentally picked up a minor injury about a couple of weeks ago, has not been getting any regular playing time. That leaves us with the best of the bunch Mahdavikia and the defensive stalwart Rahman Rezaei.
So Ivankovic is saying that he and Iranian Football Federation decided to not schedule friendly matches because these two could not be there?!
Whatever dude, what ever!
