Team Melli security concerns!

Bob Dylan

In all my years of following Team Melli, through all the ups and downs, and political turbulences that my country has gone through, I had never heard any one person or group to threaten Team Melli.

If for nothing else we were always united when it came to cheering our boys on for a good game, regardless of our political views.

Unfortunately, in the eternal words of the great Bob Dylan “The times, they are A-changin”.

Here is what I read on the net yesterday. I let you decide on what this is all about, but just reading it makes me sad.

All this talk is depressing. I am determined these will be the most peaceful and wonderful World Cup yet.

That’s just typical Islamic Republic propaganda! They just want to affirm that the oppsition is violent. Unfortuanately, they are playing politics at the expense of sports.

i think iran’s government has all the right to be concerned as not only the mujahedine group might attack Iran’s national team..,but also the Al Qaida..!

Mojahedin will never attack Iran’s national team! They have not done it for past 20 years, they will not do it this year! Unlike European politicians, Iranian opposition groups know that Team Melli players are not the Islamic Republic affiliates but representative of Iraninan people. Even Mojahedin love their team!

As far as Al Qaida, I do not see why Iran’s team would be at any higher risk than that of US, British, or even German team?
