Four more years of lousy football!

June 13th, 2009 | By: Afshin Afshar | 9 Comments »

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Okay boys and girls; prepare yourselves for another four years of Kaffashian, Taj, and crew’s lousy football management!

All the votes are counted, Ahmadinejad is re-elected, and you know what that means! This motley crew will have another four years to bastardize our once promising football.

Don’t for a moment kid yourselves. Iranian football is one hundred percent political. Kaffashian, Taj, Akhoondi, and the rest would have been out of there along with Mohammad Aliabadi and his boss; but no such luck!

Well, I really want to know if 62% of people voted for this guy or not!? It just tells me I had the wrong impression of people there.

There seems to be a discrepancy between a 62% favor and the reaction of the Iranian people that I see on television. 62% is a LARGE percentage of the population. It’s almost as if no election took place and the figures are just ludicrously made up by the current government.

Also call me crazy but apart of me deep down is actually glad to see Ahmadinejad re-elected. He seems to be the only prominent political advocate of a potential Palestinian state. He also seems to be the only one that question’s Israel’s harsh military actions and unjust oppression upon the Palestinians; something that I believe must be put to an end.

Seth, are you a Palestinian?! Do not mean any disrespect to what you had to say about Palestinians and their aspirations but I think qualifications for an Iranian president should first concern Iran and not how just he is in regards to other people around the world. As far as it concerns Iranian issues, he is not very qualified. That is well demonstrated in the last four years.
