Korea Republic give Iran a gift!
The Boys were handed a gift from the heavens yesterday after their 1-1 draw with UAE. Fellow Group 2 teams’ faced off in Riyadh and guessed Korea Republic defeated the hosts Saudi Arabia 2-0.
This result leaves Iran in 2nd place with five points trailing Korea by 2 and leading KSA by 1 goal. But don’t jump with joy yet! The Saudis may be down, but they are not out by any means. They are a good team, that has a habit of winning the games that it is expected to win.
They will not be dropping points against UAE or Korea DPR, the supposed weaker teams in the group. It is safe to assume that should Iran qualify for South Africa, it will happen through the Saudis in Tehran on March 28, 2009.
