Doo doo roo doo doo! IRAN!
Tomorrow is the day! If the Boys come away with three points, they’ll be in an excellent position to make a distance between themselves and the chasing pack.
At the moment Group 2 is neck to neck with four teams tied with four points. Should Iran defeat UAE, they will be tied with the winner of KSA v Korea Republic at the top of the table. That would give them a chance to position themselves for one of the top two positions that will earn an automatic qualification from the AFC.
Iran’s next two matches are with Korea Republic and KSA; not exactly a walk in the park! So they need all the “easy” points they can get. That is not to suggest that getting three away points against UAE is easy, but one must admit that compared to Korea Republic in Korea, one would rather face UAE in Abu Dhabi.
We have less than 24 hours to the kick off, come on boys! You can do it!
