Team Melli fans Fans,

This is it! Korea Republic and Saudi Arabia played a goalless draw less than an hour ago. We would ave liked a win by Korea Republic, but we’ll take the draw over a Saudi win that would have made it very difficult for us.

Now we must defeat UAE in Tehran, and defeat them big!

Kickoff is in less than 30 minutes!

Doo doo roo doo doo …….. IRAN!

Surprised Karimi played entire game, despite hi snice goal

Khalaatbari is a great player but way too many touches.

Shojaiee is not the same guy we all knew. What is wrong with him? Is he Borhani’s roommate or something? Man he missed that opportunity.

Glad we got the 3 points but we did not look good except for 1st 15 minutes.

Between Ando and Nekounam, I was even wondering they are on the field. 4-2-3-1 and not even knowing who is in the middle? Very shaky at times!

Let’s cheer for next match!

Mansour! Things were not as bad as you make it…. I think they did good, just could not score!!! We need a finisher!!!! Shojaiee would have had a better chance if he took that shot himself but it was sill a beautiful pass and Borhani wasted it. This wasting of great opportuinites happened over and over through out the game…. It’s unfortunate. But, hey, we got 3 points. Kaabi put up a great show. Karimi was great. Khaaatbari proved himself worthy of more play time. Aghili was very sharp on defense. But I agree on Ando. I don’t know why Ghotibi keeps him in the whole time when he is not effective. He could have used somebody else instead of him (e.g. Zandi). And Nekouman was ok. He was not spectacular but he did his task all right.

I would add, in fact, Nekouman made dead accurate long passes. That’s what his job is as a playmaker. We should not expect him to do miracles or score form center of the field. He did what was asked of him perfectly…

Afhisn, what is your opinion of player’s performance?!!!!

So let me understand this…. Now the only way we qualify directly is if we defeat S. Korea and Saudis and N. Koreans tie….

If the game between Saudis and N. Koreans ends in anything but tie, we will only be able to advance by playoffs…

Either way it means we have to win or tie and then hope for the best on the other side….

I saw that. Thank you. I think KSA will beat Korea DPR and so we will have to win/tie to go to playoff. Lets hope we can tie. It would not be easy without playing an attacking game. And even if we attack we can not score… So if we give away even one goal we’ll be dead.

Second thought, I’m not sure this makes me feel beter or worse!!! A World Cup without Iran and Argentina is not one I would even want to follow…
