Iran and Korea Republic play a 1 – 1 draw in Seoul

Javad Nekounam and Masoud Shojaei The Iranian team had come to play. They put up an excellent tactical and individual show and came within minutes of victory, but it wasn’t to be. The Koreans are too good to be taken for granted, especially at home. The cream of the Korean football rose to the top, when Park Ji Sung equalized with less than 10 minutes to go.

Match report

Now we must wait for the result of Saudi Arabia and North Korea match to be played in Riyadh.

No matter the outcome, our boys put up a valiant fight against a very good Korean team, and perhaps won many hearts when many of them came out with green tapes rolled over their wrist bands. The green tapes were gone when the team came out of the locker room in the second half, but the point was made.

Let’s wait and hope for the best result from Riyadh.

I admire them for supporting their tortured countrymen, women, & children. I pray their country is freed soon from this “Theocracy”. And I pray for the soul of Neda Soltani…shot to death for asking for her Liberty. The more horror I see from Iran, the more I hate Ahmadinejad & I’m Irish, not even Iranian. But I know what it’s like to desire one’s freedom. I wish the Iranian team great success in each competition to come & I wish their people a miracle from God. “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great).
