Team Melli settles down in Peking!

Freydoon Zandi and Afshin GhotbiThe Boys are in Peking now. After their match with China, the team made the three hour trip to Peking.

Osasuna midfielder Masoud Shojaei joined the team, but did not take part in the light training session due to exhaustion caused by his long trip from Spain. However, Ali Karimi and Khosrow Heidari, who had missed the China friendly due to minor knocks, took part in the training.

Team manager Mansour Pourheidari told reporters that the team will have two training session in Peking before flying to Pyongyang on Thursday afternoon. Pour Heidari also added that Coach Afshin Ghotbi’s main goal out of the game against China was to test a few players who had joined the team later in the camp, and there was a conscious decision to not show too much to the Korea DPR scouts who were sitting in the stands.

Personally, I am not sure if I buy the “We didn’t want to show them our cards” excuse, but the fact is that the team that played against China is not the team that will start against Korea DPR.

I think they will beat Korea DPR in Pyongyang 2-1! What do you think?

Iran wins 2-1. Rough game, not as crisp as we want it to be at this stage but they get the needed points
