Déjà vu all over again, one more time!!!!
Would you believe me if I told you that Javier Clemente is back in the picture?!
Didn’t I tell you that Iranian football is stuck in the Groundhog Day?! You thought I was exaggerating, didn’t you?
Now you wait! Celemente will NOT get the job, neither will Afshin Ghotbi; it will go to a recycled Iranian coach. Mohammad Mayelikohan, Amir Ghalehnoei, and Mansour Pourheydari’s names come to mind.
Even Yogi Berra would be at loss for words if he had to explain this situation. This is “Déjà vu all over again” one more time!!! I have always wondered why my fellow Iranians move abroad and generally speaking no matter where they go or what they do, they seem to get their act together, which tells me that this lack of planning and bad management is not genetic! So if that is true, then why can’t they get their act together while on Iranian soil?!
On today’s Mehr News Agency site there were two articles: One was an interview with Kaffashian the IRIFF Chief (In Farsi: http://www.mehrnews.com/fa/newsdetail.aspx?NewsID=646303) and another with Mehdi Nabi the IRIFF General Secretary (In Farsi: http://www.mehrnews.com/fa/newsdetail.aspx?NewsID=646808). What is amazing is that these interviews were done on the same day and these two guys make a couple of contracticting statments about Clemente and IRIFF’s next course of action!
If these guys are going to bulls–t, they should at list synch together so that they sound somewhat reputable!

That’s funny!!! They contradict each other both on Clemente’s acceptance of IFF’s conditons and progress in appointment of local coach!!!!
Who knows what’s happening there! After reading those two articles, I get the feeling that Kaffashian is insisting on continued negotiations with Clemente, while every body else in IRIFF has moved on…
BTW, Afshin, don’t want to get technical, but I thought you were gonna use “Persian” instead of “Farsi”!!!

kia, you are killing me man! You have a memory as sharp as a Samurai sword! Yes, I remember that too. Sorry, I will use “Persian” from now on, and I hope that no one else has noticed my little slip of the wrist!

Yeah! I thought you probably do not want to go the same path again and have everybody jump at you for that usage. Even though, I have to admit, I also think we should use “Persian”…
but again I do not want to get that started!!!! LOL
