Hashemian vs. Mahdavikia
Today in Bundesliga two Iran internationals will face off when Hamburg takes the field against Hannover 96.
Mehdi Mahdavikia of Hamburg and Vahid Hashemian of Hannover have reached this point moving in two different directions.
Mahdavikia seemed to be on his way out at the beginning of the season. He was a man no one at the club wanted. He persevered, and despite conventional wisdom succeeded in getting back to the regular squad, as a defender.
Hashemian on the other hand, was signed from Bayern and was presented as the go-to-guy. He was said to be the man who would score many goals for the Hannover Reds. Things have not worked that well for him though. He has scored only two league goals, and the chances are will not be with the club for too long.
Tomorrow Hashemian will try his attacking skills against Mahdavikia’s defensive shrewdness.
