Some really nice goals. Very quick with the ball. I noticed in the Croatia game and this one Branko has them looking well for the open man and players coming back to the ball to continue the ball movement forward. They found seams well to provide the fast scoring opportunities. That field was impressive. So far looking good. I believe Branko will work on tightening up defensively. The Mexico game will be interesting.

Hi Kapcro,

Where have you been hiding lately? :)

Our defense needs to tighten up, but I like the way Madanchi played. With Zandi hurt, he should get more playing time.

I also liked the way Teymourian played.

Anyway, stay around more :)

I hope he gets enough playing time. With Mahdavikia returning to action, there won’t be room for him.

I was not really impressed with Nekounam though!!! I know he is on the spotlight now and i hope he gets to transfer to Berlin. But, he used every opportunity for long and fruitless shots on the goal instead of passing the ball1 Even when there was great opportunities for passing.

Just kicking back with some down time. Watching the French Open. Doing some cycling with my son, he’s twenty. We put in 150-200 miles a week now that its warm again. I’m liking what I see from Team Melli. Second round is a possibility. Croatia played lousy against you guys and now a losing effort against Poland. They need to regroup and refocus.

Hi Kapcro,

I was surprised by the loss to Poland. I did not see the game so I can not opine on it, but I tend to believe that some of this must be due to players taking it easy in advance of the Brazil game. Besides, what is the insentive? They already know who is most likely to start, so why risk getting injured?

Anyway, Glad to see you back. By the way, where abouts to you live these days? You may have told me, but I have forgotten.

Hi kia,

I am there with you. Playing in UAE has hurt his game IMHO.

Afshin, I’m living in the Eastern US currently. Yes, the Poland game was no crisis. We played better in the first half. Could of easily been 2-0 in the first half with the shots they had. The team has had a virus hit during the week and you’re right they realize that its better to play it safe because of injuries this close to start time. The coach experimented a bit during the second half with players and tested some subs. Poland gets to enjoy the win, Croatia shrugs it off and looks ahead.
