Nekounam out of a job?
February 3rd, 2006 | By: Afshin Afshar | No Comments »
One of the Iranian sports papers, Iran Varzeshi, ran an article the other day reporting that Iran international midfielder Javad Nekounam who plays for UAE’s Al Wahda may be returning to Iran.
According to the report the new coach at the club does not think highly of Nekounam and the club may soon release him of contractual applications.
If true, this would be very unfortunate news for the player and the national team because Nekounam has been one of the most consistent players in the national team. Being dismissed by the club so close to the World Cup can not be good for his form and his psyche.
