Rahman Rezaei, Iran’s defensive linchpin
February 14th, 2006 | By: Afshin Afshar | No Comments »

Rahman Rezaei is one of Iran’s unsung heroes. He has quietly been putting up one good performance after another playing in Italy’s Serie A, while most of the attention of the Iranian fans is tilted towards the Bundesliga.
Perhaps some of this has to do with the fact that he is a defender and defenders tend to get less attention compared to strikers or midfielders.
Reszaei currently plays his football for Messina and has been one of the mainstays of the team’s defensive line in the last two years.
