Relax, it was just a crazy drunk!
I have been reading about the drunken youth who went on a knife rampage in Berlin, and how everyone is now concerned about security just two weeks before the World Cup!
Europe must be a very safe place! Otherwise I don’t get all the hoopla?!
Germany is a big country and unfortunately there is always a chance that there will be a couple of cuckoos who will do crazy things like this. What, you think mugging, drug dealing, or assault and battery stopped in New York City during the 1994 World Cup? Heck no!
Let me tell you a story, when I was going to college in NYC in the early 80s, some crazy guy decided to walk into trains once in a while and slash people! So they nicknamed him “The Slasher”. The Slasher happened to slash people on the same subway line that I had to take to school every morning, when the Slasher went to work! To be safe, all of us “smart” commuters made sure we stood (not sat) somewhere in the train where we could run the hell out of the opposite door if the Slasher walked in through one! They never caught the Slasher, we never got slashed, and he decided to stop slashing after it got too boring for him!
So the lesson in my story is:
Relax, always stay out of dark and quiet alleys, cross the street if you see suspicious characters up ahead, or walk into a Burger King for a Whopper if you think someone has been following you for a couple of blocks, and you’ll be fine!

I remember the stories about the Slasher nutcase in NYC. Good thing this kid in Germany didn’t get ahold of a gun. You have to be vigil when out in public with all the loons, crackpots and assorted freaks out there.
