Hi Alighooli jAn,

You had me cracking up here, especially with goalie thing.

I think I will write more on this, because I am afraid some may have interpreted my first post as a criticism of Romario, while my intention was Perspolis management.

I think I will clarify.

Thanks buddy,

Afshin,
I liked your humor. I agree with the concept of your argument on the reasons for not hiring Romario. But one can also look at it from another prespective. Suppose by bringing Romario, Perspolis FC can sell more tickets helping their bottom line. Also Romario, probably plays better than 10 of the 11 Perspolis starters. The one player he outplay is the goali, and that is because he is too short for the goal. He is a Brazilian, after all.
I also, think Romario will bring in more experience and insight to the team. Maybe he should sign as an assistant coach or something.
Since I am on the subject, I don't think he will ever agree to play in Iran. There are not enough green and gold bikini clad tanned Samba girls around and he will have a hard time finding Cachaça in Iran.

Hi Sina,

My problem with this is that I do not think an Iranian team that is having trouble making the payroll for its current roster can benefit from signing a 40 year old football legend.

I think they better spend that money to sign young Iranian players who are the future of our football.

Let's face it, Perpolis is no Real Madrid. Signing big names helps neither the Perspolis nor Iranian football.

Cheers,

Afshin
