Vahid wins this one
Vahid Hashemian helped his side win the duel with Hamburg. He scored the second and the winning goal for Hannover 96 and a good looking goal it was.
This is the Iran international’s third Bundesliga goal for the Reds of Hanover.
I’ll be the first to admit that Hashemian’s last two years leave more to be desired. But I must also say I have soft spot for the guy because he has gotten to where he is all….by …. himself.
When he was a kid, he lost his older brother in the Iran-Iraq war. That must have been tough on him and his family. Those were tough times for everyone in both countries.
He always wanted to become a professional footballer. He move to Germany in 1999 and has been playing professional football there ever since.
Now all he has to do is to score a bunch more goals this coming June!
