What do they talk about?
Iranian Football Federation’s top officials met with Coach Branko Ivankovic last week to discuss their “plans for the national team”.
They do this every now and then.
They usually announce the meeting date a few days ahead of time. Meet behind closed doors for an hour or so, and then show up for a few publicity photos at which point they tell the reporters that they had a successful meeting.
This is all fine, but the problem is no one knows what they talk about!
With no friendly games scheduled until March and players spread all over the glob the team does not meet nearly often enough.
Ivankovic barely travels out of the capital to watch new players, and he seldom sits through the entire game when he attends one in the capital.
In other words not much is going on with the national team and that makes one wonder why the secrecy?
