Afghans lose to India
I have officially adopted the Afghan National Team as my favorites in the AFC Challenge Cup! Why? Because in the 80s when I was going to college (I am dating myself now!), I lived in an area of Queens, NY where many Afghan families came to live. Most were running away from the war with Soviets which devastated their country. I made many Afghan friends from whom I have many good memories. I don’t know where most of them are now, but here is my way of honoring those friends.
Okay, enough sentimental stuff, let’s get back to football!
My adopted team played a gallant game against India and had two golden opportunities to score, but they were beaten 2:0.
Next in line is Chinese Taipei. Come on bacheha (boys), lets do it this time
