Hamburg lose to Levekusen but Mehdi has a great a game
Today Hamburg SV lost to Leverkusen 2:0 and there for missed the opportunity to have an opportunity to close the gap with leaders Bayern in case Bayern drops points tomorrow.
The loss was perhaps a bit undeserved. HSV attacked over and over and over with no luck.
I was also happy to see that my country man Mehdi Mahdavikia played the entire game and played excellent. Better yet, each time he touched the ball, the entire AOL arena roared “Mehdi!”.
It chocked me up to see the HSV fans supporting Mahdavikia despite his recent troubles.
I am not one to pass judgment on the case, but sometimes we forget that athletes are people just like us and they screw up just like we do. They should be given a chance to put things right, just like we should. I have my own opinion on what may have happened in Mehdi’s case, but I do not know all the facts, and ultimately it is between his and his family to sort things out.
Anyway, I am glad to see he is playing well.
