He gets no Respect!

Oh my goodness! I thought Branko gets no respect in Iran until I read Soze’s post in Croatia blog! …… Oofta!

I actually agree with Soze in principle regarding Ivankovic’s lack of tactical prowess. Under Ivankovic Team Melli has been using the same general attacking tactic for the last two years.

Amongst all the Croatian coaches that have come and gone through Iran, I have liked and admired two more than the rest. First Tomislav Ivic for his superior knowledge of the game. I think he was one of the best coaches of his generation out of Eastern Europe. Then it is Vinco Begovic for who he is. He has been in Iran for a few years. The work he did with the youngsters in Foolad FC of Ahvaz while he was there was very admirable.

I know for fact that he even dished out cash out of his own purse to take care of some of those young kids who could not afford football kits or healthcare when injured.

Back to Iran vs. Croatia friendly; this is a meaningless game. Iran is going to be without three or four of its starters, and Croatia is not going to risk too much by pushing too hard so close to the World Cup.

With all of that said, I take Iran and one goal (you give me a one goal head start), what do you say Soze? ;)

Lol, I do not think it is as meaningless of a game as some may think. Some Melli players are missing the game due of injury and not because they do not value the imortance. Ivankovic is looking to Croatia as a look alike to Portugal and Mexico.

And Croatia is looking to Iran as a warm up for Japan.
