Let’s bring on the games

The news out of Germany is that Iranian football fans will be more closely scrutinized when they apply for visas. That was expected. That is the way it has been for Iranian travelers for almost three decades.

Anyway, the fact of the matter is that the majority of the Iranians who will attend these games are those who live abroad in North America and Europe. Most of them have dual citizenship and can afford the trip.

Average Iranian football fan in Iran does not make enough money to be able to pay for a $5000 World Cup package (airfare, hotel, and three tickets) that Iranian travel agencies are offering.

Anyway, I am getting very tired of this game of political football. Let’s bring on the games, so politicians can find another thing to mess with.
