Let’s not flip!

Okay, our friend Payam who contributes to this blog from Iran suggested that we should stop beating ourselves over the loss to Mexico and start talking about Portugal.

He is absolutely right. No reason to flip!

We are stuck with Branko and his system for two more games. Let’s hope that we put up a good show against Portugal for two full halves.

I will not post any more stuff about the last game. Let’s try to enjoy this World Cup for two more games with our team in it, and then after we are out, adopt another team as our own and have a blast :)

Afshin, i agree with you. However it is hard to enjoy the next games while you have to put up with a system you know it’s wrong!!!

That said, I belive Iran will put up a good show against portugal. My reasoning is that they will probably get behind early on in the game and they will work hard again to equalize. If they do equalize or not does not really matter. Because per Ivankovic’s system as soon as they score they will fall back to defensive strategy and allow Portugal to take the lead again. But as long as they are behind (which probably would be most of the game) they would attack and put up a good show. So lets enjoy those moments… :)

I agree with Afshin. We need to be positive and focus on the future and also enjoy the games.

We’re not the only team making mistakes. Japan and US had bad games too. I think Japan’s loss was just as devastating as ours, if not worse.

If Iran plays the entire game against Portugal like they did the first half with Mexico then it will be a very entertaining game and we will have a decent chance of even winning the game.
