Mahdavikia has an assist in HSV victory

Iran international Mehdi Mahdavikia who plays his club football for Hamburg SV of Bundesliga had an assist in today’s HSV victory against Armenia Bielefeld.

Mahdavikia, who plays right back, frequently ventures up the field to join in on attack. Today in the second half, with the game tied 1:1, he had and excellent run up the right side, had a nice give and go exchange with Czech teammate Jarolim, and found striker Sergei Barbarez who blasted in for the win.

Mahdavikia plays midfield for Iran, but he has excelled as a defender for HSV.
