Player Profile: Arash Brhani

Arash Borhani is one of Iranian football’s many young guns. At twenty three Borhani has all the tools and potential to develop into a football star. Ironically what may be standing between him and stardom when the team takes to the field in Germany is teammate Ali Daei who has a tight hold on the starting striker position.

Borhani was born in September of 1983. He plays his football for Pas FC of Tehran where he has scored 28 goals in the last three years. With seven games to go this season he has seven goals and three assists to his name.

Borhani has excellent ball handling skills, strong shots, and amazing pace. The only weakness in his game is his unpolished finishing. Some think this may be due to nerves, but most see it as weak focus which can be fixed with experience.

He came very close to taking his club to the semi finals of the AFC Champions League when he scored once in the first and twice in the second leg of the series against Al Ain, but both times Pas blew a lead letting Al Ain through on away goal rule.
