Profile: Branko Ivankovic
Much maligned Team Melli coach Branko Ivankovic has been getting a lot of deserved and undeserved heat as of late. I think the problem has been his inability to properly handle the Iranian media. Iranian newspapers are notorious for their sensationalism. Instead of finding a way to work with them, he antagonized them and as a result he cut his main communication channel with the fans.
But here in World Cup Blog we are fare and give everyone his/her moment in the Sun. Click here for a little short profile on the quiet Croatian who does not seem to get a break from Iranian paparazzi.

Enjoyed reading about Branko and his impact on Iranian football. As a Croatian-American its always interesting to see Croatians making an impact on other places in the world. It seems eveyone is at odds with the press sooner or later and that every coach outside his own borders has problems with a portion of the press that immediately resents a foreign influence. Its my belief that a win at the WC and the Iranian press will be all happiness and joy again. Good luck to Team Melli.
