Simply ridiculous!
Listening to my Brazilian friends argue over national team selections makes me sick! I mean look at them, they argue over who should start here or there and they’ve got three or four world class players for each position!
Guys, I’ll take your third choices any day, naturalize them, and make it to the round of 16! Of course, neither I nor Grahm Souness will be coaching them, but I’ll take Fabio Capello, thank you very much!
I was just watching the El Classico and here is the list of Brazilians who were on the field:
Real Madrid: Roberto Carlos, Cicinho, Baptista, Robinho, Ronaldo
Barcelona: Ronaldinho, Belleti
and looking at a few other top clubs in Europe:
AC Millan: Dida (GK), Cafu, Serginho, Amoroso, and Kaka
Inter Millan: Espindola (GK), Ze Maria, Cezar, and Adriano
Bayern Munich: Lucio, Ze Roberto
And there are so many more where these came from!
Isn’t this ridiculous?! So many gifted players!
I remember a few years back when Giovanni Elber was scoring all those goals for Bayern Munich and he still was not getting called, because Brazil had other top strikers!
How many other countries can boast so much talent? This is simply an unfair advantage!

We are surely blessed when it comes to football. Today Ronaldo scored a great goal and I hope the Real Madrid fans enjoyed it. I can’t wait for the WC to begin!!!

You forgot about Thiago Motta at Barça. Sylvinho and Edmilson was injured.
Espindola = Julio Cesar?
Elber wasn’t called because we had so many others. He wasn’t called because he suck. :p

Yes, I meant Julio Cezar.
I didn’t know Motta was Brazilian too! Jeez! How many of you are there?
The other two did not play, so I didn’t mention them, but there you go again!
Common! you are being to hard on Elber. he did not have the flashy Brazilian style of play, but the guy was one of the best strikers in Bundesliga for a couple of years.
You guys are simply spoiled! ![]()

[...] As Afshin Afshar well pointed, many Brazilians were in the game, so let me say what I think about their participation on the “clash of titans” Real Madrid and Barcelona. [...]

I think Elber was good, not great. He was the Adriano of his time, playing the ’strong style’ rather the ’samba style’. Adriano was unwanted by most people here too until the Confederation Cup.

[...] The game itself did not play up to the hype, but it was fun to watch. I wrote a little piece for the World Cup Blog in which I listed the Brazilians playing for Barca and Real. It made me laugh to think that if Brazilian fans were to spent as much time writing about their European players as we do on ours, they’ll probably be writing 24 hours a day! It is Simply Rediculous! Afshin, Brazil has 200 millions. Only in Sao Paulo you have some 20 million people living. It’s not so strange they produce a lot of tallented players.
