Speak out for the female Iranian football fans
There are reports from Tehran that once again female Iranian football fans were not allowed to enter the stadium and support their national team in the game against Costa Rica.
Furthermore, security guards beat and arrested a number of these fans who were peacefully protesting the fact that they were not allowed into the stadium. There is a photo showing a security guard kicking a female fan.
Shame on Iranian Football authorities and all the other officials who fail to accommodate such simple request from our countrywomen.
Shame on the officials who see such gross abuse of power, by these guards, and fail to take action to curb this barbaric behavior.
And shame on all the newspapers that claim to represent the fans, but fail to speak out for the right of 50% of them. Shame!

This is such a sad story. Weren’t there a number of protests about this a few years back too? A simple football match should be something that everyone should be allowed to enjoy.
