Iran looking for friendlies
Okay, once again back to my favorite subject, Iran’s friendly games, or rather lack there of, in preparation for the World Cup.
News out of Tehran yesterday was that the president of the federation, Mohammad Dadkan, has sent official letters to four federations, namely Switzerland, Turkey, Columbia, and Belarus, requesting a friendly.
An official letter? Wow! Now that is a revolutionary idea! I guess after the Ukraine debacle they have decided that they no longer should rely on “verbal” agreements only!
I have no way of knowing if this is the truth or just another rumor, but for Iranian football’s sake I hope that it is, and I also hope that they get positive response from one or two of these federations.
If I had to guess, I would say, based on the current political situation, it is more likely that Switzerland and Belarus respond positively.
Stay tuned for more!
