Guys, things have got worse in Iran. Confirmed 7 dead!!! I can't really see how the boys won't be effected by all this news and the situation. Good thing the game is not in Tehran otherwise it would have definately been cancelled....

Games like this and its outcome will not cut the root of this regime.

When they were the most vulnurable (I was in Iran at the time), they sold 100,000 tickets so fans could watch Iran's game against Botof from Bulgaria.

Well, w/o letting people know, they moved the game from Azadi stadium to another one which could only hold about 30,000+ fans.

All other 70,000 peopole, to include me and friends/family, were upset.

A riot took place; and of course, all anti-regime political parties tried to take advantage and use such pivotal moment to destroy that regime. :) :) :) Unfortunately, it did not happen.

I hope TM will win. The riot in Iran will end and unfortunately we will see 4 more years of the same! On the same token, we do need to win because that is what we are all about. We are a nation that leaves everything to the "last minute" and "under pressure" we do better. Is it just me or that's a non-bias, true, and general statement?

I see your point Kia but I think we should hope for players like "Daie" who, not as a coach but as a player (the old times), used to show some "Gheyrat" and lead the team to victory. Who do we have now to do that for us? Not sure...

Go Iran!!!! :)

Since you brought this subject up, do you think the situation would effect Iran's game next week?!

And let me even ask a more difficult question: Would you guys rather see a full blown riot that might lead to consideraable changes in country's political system and future but might lead to cacellation of the game next week, or a quick end to the situation to assure no interference with our qualification bid. In other words, at this stage, if you had to choose, is the political change more important or particitpation in WC 2010?!!!
