All quiet on the TM front
With only six days to go to Team Melli’s qualifier against UAE, all looks good in the camp. Players are in good health and good spirit.
Central defender Hadi Aghili of Sepahan FC is the only notable casualty. He had an ongoing knee injury that required surgery. He is sidelined for 45 days to two months.
The other expected glitch was Osasuna’s refusal to release midfielders Javad Nekounam and Masoud Shojaei early. However, considering Osasuna’s ongoing struggle in La Liga this did not come as a surprise.
Todays’s Tehran papers reported that assistant coach Houman Afazeli missed the training session because of cold. However, veteran midfielder Karim Bagheri was there to pickup the slack and help his former teammate and now Team Melli Head Coach Ali Daei.
Take lots of vitamin C boys; for the next seven days we don’t need any common cold or flu causalities in camp!
