Former TM translator Reza Chalangar hospitalized
Former Team Melli translator Reza Chalangar was hospitalized earlier this week after experiencing chest pains. At last report he was being held under observation at the hospital.
Chalanger who is fluent in Croatian served as the personal translator for a number of Croatian coaches who served in Iran; Team Melli coaches Miroslav Blazevic and Branco Ivancovic amongst them.
His colorful approach to translating the coaches for whom he worked made him a favorite of the fans. He was known for his uncanny ability to replicate the emotions of the coach occasionally making the players wonder with whom they were really communicating.
Chalangar was banned from football last year after being accused of having a part in a performance enhancing drug scandal that hit Pas FC of Hamadan. Chalangar was serving as Coach Vinco Begovic’s translator at the time.
Let’s hope the best for Reza and his family.
