Team Melli to play Catalonians

All of a sudden it is raining friendly matches for Team Melli! Ali Daei told reporters that Team Melli will play Catalonia select team while in Spain for training.

Previously it was reported that the team would face the Basque select, and the Catalonia match would be in addition to that.

Daei told reporters that both teams have Spanish internationals on their rosters and are able to offer a stiff challenge to Team Melli. When asked why a match against Spanish National Team was not scheduled as it would present a more challenging opposition, Daei agreed, but reminded the reporters that the Spanish National Team’s calendar is a very busy one and scheduling a friendly with them would require well in advance planning.
